Absolutely riveting

We’ve got sparks! We’ve got a door, and then not. We’ve got a floor and a ceiling, and rivets!

This post feels a bit like a trip down memory lane when looking at the photos, as taking out the centre door of the bus was done in parallel to putting in ceiling and floor. Our decision to take the centre door out took a few people by surprise as often people close the front door and leave the centre one or may even go through the trouble of fitting a new centre door, if the bus doesn’t come with one. To have easier access to all parts of the bus? I don’t know – nowhere’s really far in a housebus.

Our idea though was to create a big, mostly empty space in the bus, not interrupted by doors or steps or a kitchen aisle. So the door had to go, and we love the end result. Johnathan, Hannah’s dad, took it out single-handedly. So awesome. Well, maybe he did use both hands, but still.

Thank you, Jonathan!

Anyone can be cool, but awesome takes practice
Thank you, Johnathan!

It was very rewarding to create this new, big wall space.
